Who we are

BittyByte builds and maintains small business websites in Australia. This page explains what information we collect through this site, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, you can reach us via email or through the contact form.

What we collect

We keep collection deliberately minimal. There are only two sources of data on this site:

Contact form submissions. When you send us a message through our contact form, we receive the name, email address, phone number (optional), business name (optional), and message you provide. Form delivery is handled by Web3Forms, which passes the submission to our inbox.

Anonymous analytics. We use a cookie-less, self-hosted analytics tool to understand how visitors find and use the site in aggregate. No cookies are set, no IP addresses are stored, and individual visitors are not identified or tracked across other sites.

We do not use Google Analytics, the Meta (Facebook) pixel, or any other ad-tech or behavioural tracking tool on this site.

How we use it

Contact form submissions are used to reply to your enquiry and follow up about a potential project. We retain them in our inbox as part of normal business correspondence.

Analytics data is used in aggregate to understand which pages are useful and where our visitors come from. We do not build profiles of individual users, and we do not sell or share data for marketing.

Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies. The site sets no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, and no third-party cookies.

Where your data is stored

Personal information you provide through the contact form is delivered by Web3Forms (United States) and lands in our email inbox. Because Web3Forms is located overseas, your submission is transferred outside Australia in transit. We have selected Web3Forms because it offers reliable delivery without selling or profiling submitter data.

Our website is hosted by Vercel (United States). Some client sites we build are also hosted on Vercel, while others are hosted by Synergy Wholesale (Australia), who is also our domain registrar.

The anonymous analytics described above are stored in a self-hosted database with Supabase. Because the records contain no cookies, no IP addresses, and no identifiers, this data is not personal information about you and cannot be linked back to any individual visitor.

Data retention

• Contact form submissions are kept in our inbox indefinitely unless you ask us to delete them.
• Anonymous analytics records are retained for as long as we operate the website. We may purge records older than 24 months at our discretion.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate
• Ask us to delete information we hold about you
• Make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information

We may update this policy from time to time as our practices or the services we use change. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
